Taming Alkyl Radicals: Catalytic Generation and Functionalization for Molecular Diversification

Goal

Development of new organic chemistry reaction methods for the controlled and sustained generation of valuable building blocks and late-stage functionalization of complex molecular scaffolds

Strategy

Application of emergent concepts in organic chemistry, such as bond-weakening catalysis and electrocatalysis with an emphasis on harnessing reactive radical intermediates and achieving asymmetric induction.
